Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Methadone is a long-acting medication, dosed once per day, that alleviates and prevents withdrawal symptoms, reduces or eliminates physiological cravings for opiates, and allows for normalization of your daily functioning. Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) has been used to treat opiate addiction and physical dependence for the past 50 years. Methadone can benefit individuals with addiction to or physical dependence on any opiates.

Subutex (buprenorphine) is a long-acting opiate replacement medication used to safely and effectively alleviate withdrawal symptoms, reduce or prevent physiological cravings for opiates, and allows for normalization of your daily functioning.   It is a tablet that is placed under your tongue and allowed to dissolve so that it can absorb into your bloodstream. 

Suboxone is a long-acting opiate replacement medication used to safely and effectively alleviate withdrawal symptoms, reduce or prevent physiological cravings for opiates, and allows for normalization of your daily functioning. Suboxone is a combination of two medications, buprenorphine and naloxone, and is also known by other brand names - Zubsolv and Bunavil. Suboxone comes in a sublingual film or sublingual tablet.
